I’m still looking for some manner of wall art to go above my TV. Nothing has caught my eye just yet.
I found a coffee table that I like after browsing through about a half-dozen websites today. And you can’t beat free shipping on a sale item.

What a cool idea for artwork—and it isn’t terribly expensive. Not sure about where to get a big frame, though.
Another lamp—this one will be going in the bedroom, I believe, on the side of the bed opposite the nightstand.
Avalon, which is the company that owns/operates my building, is apparently big on indirect lighting—in both the living room and the bedroom there are switches that operate outlets rather than overhead lights, so I just ordered this lamp from Overstock for the living room.
More Martha Stewart paint is in my future, I believe. I’ve been winnowing down swatches taped to my bedroom wall and I like this Schoolhouse Slate color, though it’s a shade greener than it appears on my computer screen.
“Saffron” is the color I chose for the living room, though I really feel like it’s more red than the dark orange that the name sort of implies.
Perhaps the new place will feel more like home once there’s someplace to actually sit!
